You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal. Isaiah 26:3-4

It is of absolute importance that we safeguard our peace in God in a time such as this. It is necessary that we are resting in Him. Isaiah 26:3 speaks about perfect peace.

Peace implies tranquility, harmony, completeness, safety, well-being, contentment, prosperity, welfare and health. We can have peace with God because of Christ’s finished work on the cross. We experience peace with others and ourselves when there is forgiveness.

As the Jewish rabbis taught, peace is the container of all the blessings of God. The peace that I can have in God is because Jesus loves me, He cares for me, He is with me.

I experience all the blessings God has for me because of Jesus. I am alive, I am loved, cared for and above all I know Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.

Peace is the greatest of God’s blessings. Without His peace, I allow the blessings of God to slip away from my life.

Andrew Murray describes humility this way, “Humility is perfect quietness of heart. It is to expect nothing, to wonder at nothing that is done to me, to feel nothing done against me. It is be at rest when nobody praises me, and when I am blamed or despised. It is to have a blessed home in the Lord, where I can go in and shut the door, and kneel to my Father in secret, and am at peace as in a deep sea of calmness, when all around and above is trouble”.

Prayer: Forgive us Lord, for being irritated, agitated and disappointed. Help us to be at rest in You in the core of our being. May we enjoy and celebrate Your peace. We ask this in Jesus name. Amen.
