God, help us to understand the struggle of the nativity.
In our season of joy, may we not forget the struggles of Mary and Joseph.
A pregnant woman had to walk a long distance, had no help and
facilities to give birth and had to flee after giving birth.

Even though we celebrate this month,
Mary and Joseph underwent a horrifying experience.
Jesus was born for us and yet only two groups of people visited him.

God, in this month of December,
help us to associate with those who suffer,
those who are scared, those who are threatened by
the so-called authorities and those who are on the move with no place to call a home. Amen.
