As disciples of Jesus, we find ourselves in various discipleship spaces. Discover how you can use these "come and see" spaces to share the Gospel.

Read Matthew 4:23–25

‘Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. News about him spread all over Syria… Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.’ (vv23–25)

At the beginning of His ministry the Gospels tell us that Jesus began to teach, ‘proclaiming the good news of the kingdom’ (v23).

In addition, in line with Old Testament prophecies about the signs of the incoming kingdom reign of God (Isa. 58:6; Isa. 61:1–2), people were being healed from various diseases, pain and demon-possession (v24).

The radical teaching of Jesus, accompanied by the miraculous healings, soon attracted a crowd.

As disciples of Jesus, we find ourselves in various discipleship spaces, each giving us an opportunity to communicate something of the Gospel and God’s kingdom.

The ‘crowds’ we find ourselves communicating with represent a ‘come and see’ opportunity for many. Perhaps this might be a Sunday morning church service, or a regular group we help lead.

Maybe it is something less formal such as the ‘crowd’ at the school gates, or those we connect with at the local gymnasium or running club.

These ‘come and see’ spaces give us opportunity to publicly share or show our faith and point people to Jesus.

Let us each ask the Lord to help us make use of the ‘come and see’ spaces He has placed us, asking Him to give us insight and wisdom as we seek to represent Him.
