Deep In My Heart

Deep in my heart
My soul yearns for hope.
Through the pain and suffering
I look back to Calvary’s Tree
And see Him who died for me.
I see the scarlet thread
That binds me to Him,
That binds Him to me.
My hope will not be lost.

Hope that bridges pain
That bears the anguish and the grief
That holds me fast
Bound by invisible silken threads
Knotted, that cannot be broken,
Making me a Reason to Hope.
My hope will not be lost.

Flee then to despair I cannot
For bound I am
Submission and new eyes
To see the coming dawn
To dawn with the rising Son
Risen for me, my eternal Hope.
My hope will not be lost.

Yea, my soul yearns for hope
To see a glimmer of light
In deepest darkness
To hear a soothing voice
And know that all is well
In the tumults of life
To know that all is well.
My soul, hope thou in God,
God who alone in Thy salvation
My hope will not be lost.

Deep in my heart
My soul yearns for rest
Turning to Christ,
My eternal Hope.
